Aesthetics Q & A

What are the benefits of aesthetic services?

Aging, stress, the environment, and your lifestyle have an impact on how you look. Wrinkles and lines naturally develop as gravity takes its toll. But, you don’t have to settle for looking older than you feel. At HealthStone Primary Care, the team provides discreet aesthetic services that help you look younger and refreshed without it appearing as if you’ve had cosmetic work done.

The practice uses the most up-to-date and researched equipment available in the field of aesthetic medicine, and the team has the experience to determine which aesthetic procedures are most worth your time and investment. They are committed to continuing education and receive training in the latest procedures and techniques to help you look and feel your very best.

What aesthetics services are offered?

HealthStone Primary Care offers a number of aesthetics services to improve the look of your skin. Offerings include:

Botox® Cosmetic

Botox temporarily reduces the appearance of dynamic wrinkles and lines in the upper face. When injected expertly by experienced providers, Botox smooths lines around the eyes, between the eyebrows, and on the forehead.

Dermal fillers are injectable gels that fill in lost volume, plump skin, and encourage collagen development. They restore youthful contours and reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles around the mouth and nose.

Chemical peels

Chemical peels involve applying a combination of compounds to your face that encourage the sloughing away of dead skin cells. Chemical peels are a solution for acne-prone skin and smooth out irregularities in texture and tone.

Facials

Facials are like a tune-up for your skin. They provide a deep cleanse of your pores, extraction of impurities, and application of healing serums, so you leave your appointment glowing.

Healstone Primary Care now offers Hydro-Facials which are an all-liquid, natural, non-invasive, and relaxing facial procedure with outstanding results. Through the controlled vacuum pressure, skin is first gently pulled into the chamber in the hand piece for micro massage, mobilization, and acupressure stimulation. Secondly, the skin is infused with powerful liquid rejuvenating solutions to consistently unclog and gently cleanse pores, exfoliate dead skin cells and extract keratin, sebum, blackheads, or other impurities. No downtime, immediately return to normal activities.

Microneedling

Microneedling improves your complexion by stimulating your body’s natural healing. A device affixed with tiny needles glides across your skin, creating micro-injuries. Your body sends healing compounds and increases collagen production as a result, so you get smoother, more resilient skin.

Do aesthetics treatments hurt or require downtime?

Aesthetics treatments, such as Botox and dermal fillers, are well-tolerated by most people. These injections do cause a pinch as the needle penetrates the skin, but the treatment is quick and causes no lasting discomfort. You can go right back to all your daily activities following treatment.

Chemical peels vary in intensity. Mild “lunchtime” peels can be refreshing and require very little -- if any -- downtime, but moderate and deep peels may sting during application and encourage serious sloughing that requires a week or more of lying low.

Prior to microneedling sessions, your provider applies a topical numbing cream to ease your sensation. Right after treatment, you may have some redness and mild swelling, but this resolves in a few days.

When will I see the results of aesthetic treatments?

How long it takes for you to experience changes to your look as a result of aesthetic treatments depends on the procedure and your skin’s reaction.

Dermal fillers’ effects are noticeable almost right away, while Botox injections may take up to 14 days for you to see the full effect.

When you leave a facial, your skin is absolutely glowing, but for a chemical peel, you’ll need to wait for a few days or weeks (depending on the peel’s intensity) for old cells to slough away and reveal fresh, new skin.

The effects of microneedling develop over time as your skin produces more collagen in response to treatment. A few days after your session, your skin may look brighter and healthier, and these effects only progress further as the weeks pass.
